Appliance repair service in Tarzana, CA

Tarzana covers nearly nine square miles of the San Fernando Valley at a relatively low residential density, with housing primarily developed between 1960 and 1980. The neighborhood divides clearly along Ventura Boulevard: south of the boulevard, hillside properties in areas like Melody Acres sit on larger parcels with ranch-style homes and more rural surroundings, while north of the boulevard the stock shifts to smaller houses, duplexes, and apartment buildings. This split means appliance types and usage patterns differ significantly depending on which side of Ventura a home sits on. The area's post-war housing stock means many appliances in service are original or first-replacement units from the 1980s and 1990s.

Appliance Repair Service

Repairing Tarzana's Post-War Appliances, Not Replacing Them

Tarzana's housing stock was built mostly between 1960 and 1980, and many of those homes still run appliances from the same era or from the 1980s and 1990s. These units are repairable in most cases. A refrigerator from this period with a sealed system leak or a failing compressor can often be restored to full function at a fraction of the cost of a new unit.

The hillside properties south of Ventura Boulevard in areas like Melody Acres present access considerations that matter for appliance repair. Winding roads and larger lots mean appliances are sometimes in locations that require more careful handling during a service visit. We work in these properties regularly and plan accordingly.

North of Ventura Boulevard, the duplexes and apartment buildings in Tarzana run washers and dryers under heavier daily use than single-family homes. Drum bearing wear, lid switch failures, and drain pump clogs are common in these high-use units. We repair them on-site without requiring tenants to go without laundry access for extended periods.

Every service, available in Tarzana, CA

Appliance repair in Tarzana is shaped by the neighborhood's post-war housing stock. Refrigerator repair and oven, cooktop, and range repair are the most common calls, particularly in the hillside homes south of Ventura Boulevard where original or early-replacement appliances are still in service. Washer and dryer repair is the primary need north of the boulevard, where apartment buildings and duplexes run high-use laundry appliances. Sealed system leak detection is relevant across the area because aging refrigerant lines in 1970s and 1980s refrigerators are a common failure point.

Todd was great! Our dryer broke down And he was at our place the next day. He was friendly communicative and got it up and running quickly. Highly recommend

Shane Eli Google review · August 2026

We called to have our refrigerator repaired and Todd diagnosed it as a blockage of air from the freezer to the refrigerator and found a damaged part which he had on hand. Todd was very easy to talk with and he handled everything needed. We were back up and running in less than 2 hours. It was a great experience. Highly recommend him.

My 40 year old dryer was out with a timer problem, I tried to change some parts but I needed Todd, hands down best appliance repair guy around. Don’t call anyone less !!

Graham Spragg Google review · September 2026

My experience with white glove has been only exceptional . I’ve had everything from grab and go fridges to an icemaker that three other technicians could not find resolve in it not working. Finally, it is churning ice and all is working well. There is an integrity in the work done and the check-in on my machinery and personal concern that I experience as a customer. I will only use white glove, and Can honestly say that I have 100% trust in continuously working with white glove. This has been my consistent experience, not a one time deal.

Appliance Repair Service FAQ for Tarzana, CA

Common questions from Tarzana, CA customers about our services, process, and coverage.

In most cases, yes. Refrigerators from the 1980s were built with repairable components, and parts are still available for most major brands from that era. A sealed system leak or compressor issue in a unit this age is repairable, and the cost is typically well below replacement. A technician can assess the unit's condition and give you a clear repair-versus-replace recommendation.

A washer stopping mid-cycle in an apartment building is usually caused by a failing lid switch, a clogged drain pump, or an overloaded motor thermal protector. High-use laundry appliances in multi-unit buildings experience these failures more frequently than residential units. We diagnose and repair these issues on-site.

Yes. We serve the full Tarzana area, including the hillside properties and larger parcels in Melody Acres south of Ventura Boulevard. Access on winding roads is not an obstacle for our service visits.

The most common signs are a refrigerator that runs constantly but doesn't cool properly, frost buildup in unusual locations, or a compressor that is hot to the touch. In older units from the 1970s and 1980s, refrigerant line connections can develop slow leaks over time. We use electronic leak detection to locate and repair these leaks.
